Fan the Flame Mass celebrates all the children who have received the sacrament of Confirmation in the Diocese of Derry during the past year.
A few words from Therese Ferry;
On behalf of all of us here at the Catechetical Centre, many thanks for the engagement with Fan the Flame Mass yesterday. There were over 3000 pupils/staff from our schools in the diocese as well as our adult and youth volunteers. Even with the odd shower, the day was joy filled and the respect and reverence shown was excellent. There are so many great pictures and videos on schools’ social media and websites from the Mass and the T-Shirts and Flags which the pupils designed and made were fantastic-I know in the busyness of this time of year the work involved in schools and really appreciate it. Thank you to our Reader, Prayer of the Faithful, Gifts Bearers, Psalmist, Flag Bearers, and the pupils who led He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands - great ambassadors for their schools as all the children were.
