Due to increasing pupil numbers and multiple other users at Knockavoe School & Resource Centre it has become necessary to review our traffic management procedures.
It is unfortunate that our current school building and site is experiencing significant pressures in relation to current accommodation and traffic management. To safely minimise risk and mitigate potential hazards it is essential that we implement a safe traffic management system in school effective from 1st September 2023, as approved by our Board of Governors.
I would ask all parents and carers, EA transport and private taxis to adhere to the following safety mitigations:
- When you enter through the school gate, please adhere to the 5mph speed limit and the one-way system.
- Always keep the main entrance at the front of the school clear.
- Parents to accompany children to the front of the school for morning drop off for quick handover to staff and the same in the afternoon.
- There will be a staggered drop off and collection time to limit numbers on site at any one time-see below.

We will continue to monitor this traffic management system and implement changes when required. Staff will be on site daily to monitor the impact of these new arrangements.
