Live Music Now (LMN) is currently facilitated in Knockavoe by Cindy. LMN provide children with opportunities to build trust with musicians and work to enhance their social and emotional skills through music. Sessions are led by what children in the room respond to best, the musicians are highly sensitive to their needs and flexible to allow for on-the-spot tailoring of musical activities. Sessions provide children the opportunity to listen to musical performance and exploring instruments and musical ideas. Participating in music encourages children and young people to become more engaged in learning, builds focus and concentration and provides them with new ways to express themselves. This, in turn, builds confidence and self-esteem, paving the way for a lifelong enjoyment of music and the benefits it brings with it.

Through 1:1 and small group sessions, residencies tend to follow a general structure of providing children the opportunity to listen to musical performance and exploring instruments and musical ideas.

The Live Music Now workshops aim to be the key to unlocking choice, voice and self-esteem in order to promote deeper engagement, focus, meaningful interaction, communication and self-expression: leading to pupil and teacher confidence in music, academic life, and personal life.

Regular musical engagement can enable many children with additional needs and disabilities to lead happy and fulfilling lives.. Live Music Now collaborates with schools and communities, connecting musicians with audiences for whom they can make a real difference.
